Amabel Barlow

I completed my Foundation Year and BA Hons Illustration Degree at University of East London between 2016 and 2020. I was awarded the Dean’s Prize in Illustration 2020. I was shortlisted at the Summer Exhibition 2021 at Royal Academy of Arts and have continued to work as a freelance landscape artist since graduation.

I enjoy nature and the environment which inspires my creativity to paint vibrant botanical landscapes. I work in oils or watercolour to create my paintings. Several of my paintings are inspired by living in Greenwich, providing a new perspective on local architectural buildings and landscapes.

My influences are the post-impressionists with their focus on nature depicted through colour and light. An early inspiration is also Marianne North, a Victorian botanical artist and her notable landscape paintings of South America.

My website includes a range of affordable art and my contact details. https://linktr.ee/barlow1

I joined Greenwich Open Studios (GOS) in 2024 and delighted to be part of this year’s Open Studios on the 14-15th and 21-22nd September.
